Members of group “yes we can” made a 3 day trip to Mizpe Ramon area.
“You brought colors in to my life making this journey possible”, “activity we never experienced before”, “awaiting the next one”, those are just some of the responses of the members of photography and cinema class of “yes we can” association.
People that took part of this journey, planed by the CEO of the “yes we can” association Moti Chilibon, are physically and motionaly challenged, physiologically handicapped, partially or even totally blind and deaf with development problems from Bat yam, Holon, Rishon Le Zion, Petah tikva, Kiryat ono, Ramat gan, Gedera and Natania.
Photography and cinema class is a very special project taking place in Bat yam branch of “yes we can” association. The program includes all kinds of photography and cinema professions (editing, scenario, direction {of play, film}, sound) with combination of field trips especially adapted for handicapped participants.
The journey to Mizpe Ramon combined tours of nearby sites adapted for the physically and motionaly challenged. On the first day of the trip to the south the bus stopped in the visitor center of Bene Darom. The participant watched a movie about olives and got a lecture and tasting of the olive oil. The next stop was at visitor center at Beer Avraham in Beer Sheva. Finally everyone got to the hotel Club Ramon in Mizpe Ramon for the war welcoming.
After getting much needed rest the participants set off to the guided sunset walk at Gamal mountain and a photography workshop with Moti Chilibon. At that workshop the participants learned how to take pictures of models in difficult conditions of desert with apprentice Shosh Shinhav modeling traditional Indian attire on the background of the Gamal mountain with marvelous sunset.
After finishing the workshop everybody came back to the hotel for some storytelling time with Zvika.
The highlight of the second day was of course the ORV trek of the Ramon crater. Special path of the crater and Carcom mountain. At the Beerot rest stop participants got a surprise - Beduin celebration with authentic refreshments, workshop of beduin pita baking, some sweet bediun tea and of course stories and explanation on the Bediun life style.
Back at the Club Ramon hotel after full course dinner came the karaoke and dance party to finish such a wonderful day.
At the third day the participants went back north, stopping at Ben Gurion grave in Sde boker. Everyone praised the journey and were very thankful for the organization, encouragement, attention and devoted care received all trough the trip.
